A day early? South African baby Hanru Van Niekerk was born on November 11, 2014, with a birthmark on his forehead shaped like the number 12! Wow! That's some collection! Lon Mitchell of Jenison, MI, has collected over 16,900 Dennis The Minutes cartoons since 1957! Oops! Spring gets approximately 30 seconds shorter every year!

Interesting, I never knew that about spring, but it makes sense. It’s all due to precession (to the earth’s axis wobbling like a top) and the current place in the wobble makes spring lose time to summer and winter lose time to autumn.

Are we speaking about the equinox day or the whole season? If the season is getting shorter that implies the earth is speeding up slightly more in its orbit around the sun at that time of year, as the orbit is not a perfect circle we are closer to the sun then during northern winter. So this implies that that axis of the elipse is shortening.

I recall another BION that said a cartoonist in England launched a comic strip called Dennis the Menace on the same day that Hank Ketchum launched his.

When looking in a mirror, Hanru will think he has a 21 on his head.

But the number will appear backwards. (The 2 as a half of a 3.

Dennis’s last name is Mitchell. That may explain Lon’s initial interest.

It wasn’t a day short, it was a month and a day.
