Don’t know why she was yelling to clean up. Look at the two of them playing so nicely together. Plenty of time when they are out with friends to have a spotless house. Mine was always clean but messy with kids stuff. Loved it when the neighbor kids came by and they all played together.

Future solution to this problem: tell the kids that everything they leave behind will be donated to the Goodwill, since they obviously don’t want it enough to find a place for it to live.

    Worked in our house…

Why tell them to put the toys away while they are still playing? Makes no sense.

anything not picked up will be thrown away or donated to goodwill. Yes it does work. You will only have to do it once. maybe twice.

“Why don’t elephants fly ?” …Well that should be pretty obvious …-—————————-They’d be sued by Disney for copyright infringement. Imagine seven little lawyers, singing “Hi Ho, Hi ho, It’s off to court you’ll go…”

I feel ya, Elly!Re: getting rid of stuff not cleaned upMy son has some “developmental differences”, but something just a bit toned down works GREAT for him – if I clean it up, it will be “lost” for a given period of time. Works! Not so well with my daughter, though. I think the “giving away” might be good for her, and would only have to be used (for REAL, no empty threats) once or twice, and we’d be good to go! But, how how how do I have differing consequences for same choices for the 2 of them?? (I can’t. Not like this) Frustrating!:-P.Ah well. I’ll just “keep on keepin’ on”.:-D

Our life! I started getting rid of things they left on the floor, and they sussed that out immediately and started leaving their trash on the floor and just picking up really good stuff.

Kids are smarter than we are.

In our house this is, like most things, a work in progress. I’m not an expert, either. They do have other virtues, luckily.
