Dave Barry observed that we give politicians an all-expenses-paid trip to the capital so they won’t screw things up any worse in their home districts. Alas, most of the politicians fail to notice this, and when they get to Washington they try to “lead.” The results are usually expensive messes for the rest of us to clean up. If only the pols would content themselves with drinking and womanizing, and let the rest of the country get on with its business…
I alway knew he was Ted Kennedy. All of Washington self helps. They help themselves to our property and our pay without even asking, and line their own pockets quite efficiently with it.
