If you rotate your tires regularly, then you might have to buy 4 at a time, a budget hardship. In the old days of rear wheel propulsion, non-radials, and bad alignments, I’d always have the rear tires moved to the front and the new ones put in back.
Nah, I picked up some cheap durable ones that I call Idun tires. Idun know how long it’s been, Idun know when I’ll change them, and Idun have the money for anything better.

I almost always bought tires this way. Sometimes one rear set lasted as long as two front sets .
