Actually, I won’t be here as long as usual, either….

br>I almost always stay up really late on party nights….But tomorrow is an election day here, and, as usual, I’m in charge of a polling place.

It’s a looooong day….from 6am till about 9:30 pm.

My alarm will go off at what is usually my bedtime…..so I have to call it a night soon, and try to get some sleep…

I’m going to bring in the cake…Bri…. hope you don’t indif we have a nibble from the back side where it won’t show.That’s what we usually do when we don’t know when the birthday person will arrive.Stel… will you be up long enough for a toast to Brian?Bev?X?

I like to think nothing says “Happy Birthday” quite like a cake decorated with sushi-shaped “cupcakes” ….

So here you go!

The big cake is chocolate fudge, the smaller ones are various flavors, covered in fondant, sculpted to look like sushi.Almond, coffee, vanilla, and milk chocolate…no yellowfin or eel, I promise.

I’ll leave those for the actual sushi platters.

Bev…. actually Susan says “Vote late and vote often.”

She wishes the polls were open reasonable hours…like maybe noon till midnight.

They’re actually little cakes, Bev….with thick molded fondant icing…..

And sure, there a a few dozen on the long table near the bar… past the real sushi.But if you want chocolate fudge cake, you have to have a piece of the big cake.

And yes…. weekends too.But mostly…. ONLINE!

It’s 2015, frevvinssake.

I like the fishier ones, thanks, Bev….but you’re sure getting good with chopsticks.

Oh, that reminds me….

I want to put out a couple of plates of maguro sashimi….

Just in case anyone didn’t get enough tuna.

And one plate of otoro sashimi, just for Brian (unless you really want to share.)Otoro is the best (and fattiest) part of the tuna…A real luxury, too expensive to serve to anybody who doesn’t truly appreciate it (which is why I had to have a few pieces whilearrranging it.)

Some of them don’t have any raw fish, if you’re a little chicken.

And you don’t have to worry, if you are… you’re safe…cos AFAIK, they don’t make any sushi out of chicken.

I’ve cut some cake from the back….it’s on plates behind the tall part where they’re harder to see.

I came down with the pink eye on Sunday.I got some drops and I’m using Epsom salt packs.You have to get right on it.

I saw a Hummer H3 all tricked out, and thought what it really needed was a twin-.50 top turret.
