I did my Au.D. (doctor of Audiology) work on line. It is not for everyone. Class was chat based, once a week. Tests for the classes were open book, but the comprehensive final (covering all the classes, even the ones I didn’t have to take due to experience) was not. Absolutely need to be self-motivating.
I have been taking the OCW courses from MIT http://ocw.mit.edu
While I don’t have any interaction with the professors, I can search for supplementary material on the Internet

But it’s “open book”!

Going for a Brit Lit degree, open book meant nothing. We were usually told the questions well ahead of time.
Compare Shakespeare’s Richard 11 with his Richard 111 with an emphasis on comand style and speach methods. Be sure to footnote all references.
