richard's poor almanac by richard thompson summer reading man: i'm enjoying the new amazon kindle and it's great vampire/zombie/robot app that lets you turn any book into a vampire, zom-bie or robot novel.* who knew atticus finch would make such a cool vampire? scientist: with the help of this electron microscope i'm trying to read today's comic section. all i can see clearly so far is a gigantic mark trailian squirrel. kid: i'm reading the graphic novelization of a face-book comment trans-lated in lolcats then retweeted four hun-dred billion times. it's not very compelling. a screaming comes across the sky. man 2: it's 20th century american literature week in ocean city. today we'll enjoy gravity's rainbow by thomas pynchon! *from an idea by ms. helen chappelle

I’m old-fashioned. My cheap, meaningless summer read is usually some popular detective novel, read in the flesh; i.e., in a paperback print edition.
