My grandmother was 73 when i was born. She was born in 1886 and lived to be 97, living alone until age 91. She and her family rode in a covered wagon to help an uncle in Kansas for a year before giving up and all went back to Iowa. She was alive when the Wright Brothers flew. She never had a tellie or a electric washing machine. I still remember washing the wringer washer and hanging out her clothes, putting out a garden every year and helping her can. She had so many wonderful stories I still cherish today.
