When in hospital for an extended stay as a 10-year-old, I had many young, pretty nurses, a couple of much older, very kind nurses, and one old, strict, less-than-kind nurse. I remember them all fondly for the care they gave me; and some of them for how much easier they made a little boy’s hospital stay.

My mother was a Registerd Nurse, back in the day when they wore white dress uniforms and wore their Nursing School Pin on their white starched hats. She was also a LT. in the ARMY NURSE CORPS in WW2. She was a wonderful, caring Nurse, for all, no matter what race, gender, etc. I know this not because she was my Mom, but by her reputation in our community. I WAS SO PROUD OF HER!
