I just don’t understand why I can never keep a job. I tell everyone right up front that I have to work without a G-string, and they always seem so eager to hire me…
A somewhat enlarged image can be found at Mr. Melcher’s blog entry (yesterday). Again, it is a slightly cropped image. A full, click-to-enlarge image can be found here.Lady with Lyre by Pine Trees is, as far as I can tell, privately owned; but, I’m not at all sure about that.A rough copy, titled A Muse with a Lyre, by a follower of the artist, was auctioned (#7) last year. While it didn’t sell, it did in 2003, under the title Lady with Lyre.Since there are obvious differences (facial features, thumb on cheek, etc.) between the original and the copy, I think the follower was only trying to recreate the original (not copy it). That makes me unsure about the private ownership (follower had to see it someplace). The artist’s A Muse with a Lyre (same title as rough copy) painting is also from around that time (1890). Its auction-result page catalog note says 3 had that theme; perhaps this was one of them, with the title Muse with Lyre under Pine Tree (just a guess). The artist’s Wikipedia page (Google translated French Wikipedia page has more) and collection (more under Subcategories at each level).Third, of the 3 works, by this artist, that have, so far, appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog, to also appear here (3 total).

How can I bridge the gap when there’s no bridge—-and no strings? Ohhhh…now I see it says “sold separately.”
