I remember the jogging craze…you were supposed to sort of bounce from foot to foot, not getting very far at each step. Somehow this was supposed to be better for you than running, and easier, etc. Only years later we started hearing about how hard it is on your joints and tendons, particularly the knees.
This comic is from when jogging first became a “thing”. I remember it well. There was even an article in Reader’s Digest that explained it to non-joggers.
