@QueenofAmericaKudos to you and Susan for all the good work you do. I’d try to take in another cat, but considering that my little 6-lb. Yum Yum beat up the 15-lb. male who lives in front yesterday (and she was on her long outside lead at the time), I don’t think it’s a good idea. She usually likes him, but not yesterday.
Just drop by and say “Hello” to all friends here:Hope all is well, please, take care, and please, stay safe and sound! And to all the sick ones, please, get a speedy recovery!
I love every single picture! These remind me of our poor Dead Spot. She did love her pearls and sparklies. She used to steal them from my little box until I just gave up and bought cheap ones for her. She would drag those things all over the house.
Ppyfss- Good luck with your Precious. I took in my mother’s Precious (whom I called Vicious all her life) and had to give her injections every 2 days for what sounds like a similar problem. She did very well on the injections but at 17yrs old well she was 17 and had stopped eating but started using the litter pan again.
Starman1948- Our thoughts and hearts go out to you and you entire family.
Upbeat note: some of the kittens from the worst of the 2 litters that Susan has nearly died last night. She was holding them and telling them to just let go. But they hung on and at 2:30 AM she gave them some fluids. It was hard because they are skin and bones. She fell asleep and when she woke up, they were WALKING AND EATING A LITTLE WET FOOD ON THEIR OWN!! She said it was probably the most amazing miracle in her 35 yrs of doing this. She just took them to the vet for more fluids.
Starman 1948, my deepest sympathies to you and your loved ones. I made my “Kitten Corral” with hot glue and cardboard and an unused corner in my living room. I called it “Kitten Town USA” It lasted about 2 1/2 months before I finally had to cut a door in it. and then remove it shortly after. An abandoned kitty condo now stands in it’s place dusty and forlorn, unused by all the cats as it still must smell like poor Chester still to their noses.Malibu Poodle is fresh from her box and is ready for play..
Before I give the update on Precious, I want Starman to know that I have not been oblivious to your lose. My condolences to you and your family. To all of you that have sent good thoughts, prayers and words of encouragement, thank you so much. The vet said she did not eat at all yesterday or last night. However, being in a kennel they aren’t worried. They gave her fluids, but she has a shy bladder and held it in for close to 10 hours. When she did pee she peed a lot. There were some red and white blood cells in it. They did change her antibiotic and sounded more optimistic than they did yesterday. Last night was the longest night I have spent in a long time. Bjstr keeps wanting to get out because he thinks she must be out in the hall because he can’t find her anywhere. I will check on her again in the morning. They talk as if they will keep her until all the signs of infection are either gone or definitely under control. Please continue the prayers and good thoughts. I know it helps me knowing that so many are pulling for for her. I thank Graham for allowing us to have this forum to support each other. It makes the world a better place for all of us. Again, thank you all for your support.
The cat in the pink dress also has a casual dress for daily use.(The cat has a skin condition and the vet had suggested clothes to prevent over grooming)..
Good afternoon Cat fans.-———-:@2old, I’m really only 25, Wet & Soggy, Rikkie Tavi, More Cats Than Sense and QueenofAmerica: Great cat and costume pix today. Thanks.-———-@LadyKat and Marge: Thank you for your kind words my friends.-———-@A_Dream4u: Chester is a beautiful cat. Thank you for your kind words my friend.-———-@Ppyfss: Thank you for your kind words. I know that your plate has been full also. Still praying for Precious to be whole.-———-@QueenofAmerica: Praying for the kitties to grow and be well.-———-Have a marvelous day my friends.
Rikkie Tavi – having her on the drip all day yesterday was the best thing for her since she hadn’t been drinking. It made her pee real good when she finally did last night. They are keeping her for the next couple of days because they are going to keep her on a drip. I’m with QueenofAmerica that I would rather they keep her for a couple of days and make sure she is okay rather than just send her home with a “hope it all works out”. Needless to say, I will do whatever I have to for the rest of her life. If is having her on a drip, special food, shots, special meds, whatever. I have done it before. Buster requires a prednisone pill every day since they took his eye and he is on special food so he won’t create crystals in his urine. Yep, fun household I have. We won’t even go into what I have to do just to get dressed everyday. I will have to make special arrangements later this year when I have surgery to make sure that Buster gets his pill and food so I will just have to make sure arrangements are made for Precious whatever it is she needs. They are my kids. They are all I have so I will do whatever it takes. It is so hard not to pick up the phone and call the vet every few hours to see how she is. Of course, they will get a call in the morning. Keep thinking good thoughts.
We do what we can, and then some. After all they depend on us so…..Toshie needed fluids so Dale and I learned how to give them to her, Nobody was happy about this,…but, we did it……until the day I stabbed Dale in the hand with the hypodermic needle! Then Toshie went to the Vet twice a week for her fluids!
Update on rescued kittens with Susan: they are all eating on their own and their poop is almost normal. (instead of green liquid) She is still giving them goats milk and will stop at the vets in the morning and have Kathy give the more fluids. Normally Susan would do it herself – she’s been doing it for years – but she said they have so little fat on them she thinks it’s better for the professional to do it again.
I think Tux is getting a home tomorrow . A very nice woman called me to talk about him. She has been to petco several times this week and again today to talk to Susan. Her husband is due back in town tonight and she is pretty sure they are going to get him tomorrow. IF she takes him, it will be his truly forever home. She’s like us – in for a penny, in for a pound. She knows he has had a rough time of it and wants that to end.
Jellybean is such a diva. I love all of the pictures posted, especially the kitten in the bowtie. He reminds me of Albert, the greeter cat at our vets. He is a charming ginger gentleman who often sports an orange bow tie. He peeks into the carriers when our cats have to visit, and seems to calm them, although they still hate being there, as do I.
To all those who responded about the story of the BEYOTCH VET, may I be first in line with the bow and arrow to give her what she did to that cat in return for her KINDLY VETERIANARIAN treatment to an innocent animal? Rose Rabbit said they MAY bring charges? They DANG WELL BETTER! Oh I am livid, so I better shut up before I get banished again!
I know I have missed some, but to wrap up my “diatribe”:
YES, thank you GRAHAM for allowing us to do this here on your SO WONDERFUL STRIP!!!
2old, I saw your comment, LOL! I AM TERRIBLE at hair styling, that’s why I now have a short stylish haircut that requires a bit of gel and a quick blow dry, or not when I don’t have to go anywhere special! LOL!

Yes, it is late….busy day. Graham, thank you SO much for featuring Jellybean. Really enjoyed her girlish chatter. More of her and rarely seen other TCs.
@QOA, your story of Susan and the miracle she awakened to touched me deeply. Susan is truly a hero in every sense of the word. And please do update us all on Tuxes potential new forever home. He DESERVES it. A picture of him and his new humans would be GREAT!
@QOAWow, that kitty playpen is really something. Bet the little guys appreciate having a change of scenery. They will be so well socialized by the time they are put up for adoption. Any escape attempts yet?

It folds up flat for the carrying case. It came with metal stakes if we want to anchor it in the yard.
