This was apparently before The Creature Walks Among Us (the third film of the trilogy), before the Creature became acclimated to breathing with lungs on land rather than with gills in the water.Hence, his need to hitch a ride with Lio down to the lagoon, back to his natural habitat. Lio always can be counted on to help the needy, especially when it’s a needy monster!

has any one established where lio lives? perhaps its not far to the beach. that or he and dad are vacationing at the shore. also, isn’t lio too old for a trike?
