A somewhat enlarged image can be found at the only work, by this artist, so far, to appear in Mr. Melcher’s blog (yesterday). Again, it is a cropped image (signature at lower left missing). A full, click-to-enlarge image can be found here.Child with Boat (or Girl with Sailboat or Child and Boat) is privately owned. It is shown, with a different coloration, click-to-enlarge image, and described, by an auction-result page (Catalogue Note says who she was).Because of its coloration difference compared to this, I figured it was a different version; but, its Catalogue Note doesn’t mention another, and given its $4,226,500 price, I would think that an important detail. The Provenance says it was illustrated in color for the December 4, 1980, sale catalog. Perhaps that illustration is the source of the coloration shown here.In preparation for it, the artist painted Study of Girl with Sailboat. A click-to-enlarge image can be found at an auction result page. Even it fetched $96,000 at sale. This coloration is 2:10 into this video collection of the artist’s works. His Wikipedia page and collection (currently, 3 more under Subcategories).First work, by this artist, to appear here.

Respectful Troll: 1899, and the America was a two masted schooner. The K-type sloops of the Shamrock/Ranger series had huge masts.
