Spiders are cool, especially the little hunting species. If you get close to observe one, its glittering green eyes follow your motion and its front legs rise up in defense. I’ve seen them track a small insect, creeping up slowly, then zipping forward to grab it. They move so quickly, your eyes can’t track them. They are there thenthere in a small fraction of a second.

If you want to freak yourself out (especially if you’re out camping) put a flashlight immediately above and between your eyes and look out at the lawn. All those little glowing dots are spider’s eyes. Lots of them!

“Larry have you been outside? There are these hug flying things that like to eat us, just ask Harry. Oh wait, you can’t because he’s dead. Besides, we all know you’re just a chicken in a spider costume.” —https://www.reddit.com/r/spiders/comments/3glmwk/savage_chickens_by_doug_savage_august_11_2015_via/ctz7qh1
