I doubt a tax surplus that could be all spent on one billiard room would do much to replace a bridge.

Shoe and the Perfesser may not get to this bridge in time to curse it.

Looks like Jersey to me. Thank God our governor is out of state campaigning.

The Fink is just about to think of something more important than a billiard room!

“Mr Anderson, is it not true that you used below standard concrete in your roadwork?”.“It IS true.”.“How do you justify your shoddy materials?”.“The contract called for 15 year lifetime materials. The road exceeded YOUR requirements by having NO failures for 20 years. If you want better, call for it in your contract requirements. I could’ve built a 100 year road just as easily.”.(The Romans built some 2,00 year roads.)

“Infrastructure” is not a Federal problem; it is the problem only of the people who live where it crumbles. The only “Federal” problem is “national security,” by coincidence the one thing the Federal does reasonably competently. Everything else spent by Federal is pork-barrel and waste.
