    Aw, I think it’s all in fun…but you’re right, it’s extremely imaginative stuff. Interesting that something so out-there found an audience back then.

    There was more of a taste for that sort of thing. Read the later Oz books.

    There a story about a Disney animator who worked on Fantasia. The movie had a huge spell of popularity in the late ’60s and early ’70s when drug culture was coming into its own. The animator was asked by a fan of the film what he was on when he did the film. The animator replied “dry martinis.”
