Frazz: What's different about Summer is: There's still not enough time to do everything. Except in Summer you run out of time to do cooler stuff. I don't know if that makes it better or worse. Boy: I'd stay and talk, but these rocks aren't gonna throw themselves in the pond.

I was a much better ker-thumper than stone skipper, less skill required I guess. Every time I think about this subject it reminds me of an ER visit long ago. I was sitting in the passenger seat of our car, mom was driving. As we were going under a freeway overpass some delinquent kicked a rock off the overpass, right into our windshield. Glass shattered all over the hot dog I was eating, and also got in my eye. Went to the ER, and i was surprised to see a girl there from school. She was with a group of kids throwing rocks into the river, and ended up getting hit in the back of her head with a rock thrown by another kid. She ended up looking like a person with her head in a turban, and I ended up with an eye patch for a few days…A good night all around.

you might be surprised at the shapes of the rocks you can skip, depending on the angle of the toss.
