Roger: Tou don't have any other flights to Broonhurst?! Woman: Calm down, sir, I'm sure we can get you there. Ah, here we go. I can route you through Chicago, then to Dallas, then to Los Angeles, then to Atlanta, then to Portland, then to Denver, then to Charlotte, then to Broonhurst. Roger: Dare I ask when I'll get there? Woman: Let's see... 3:25 PM Roger: I guess that's not too bad. Woman: ...next Tuesday.

Better to rent a car and drive there. Just make sure it has 4WD …

How about saving everyone a lot of time and trouble and just do a video conference?
Oh, I forgot about the golf game the client is forcing him to participate in… oh, well…

Take a car, Roger. I love to drive–I’d take a car so I can watch the scenery change over a plane any day.
We drove from Tennessee to Yellowstone last summer and I’d do it again in a heartbeat–I love seeing this beautiful country!

1999! Yeah, well it only got worse. Probably wouldn’t get there, period. The airline would’ve dropped Boonhurst !

@AOD - there was already some video-conferencing available back in 1999 - not as cheap and easy as today, but usable. But if you insist, how about a phone call and a couple of fax machines?
Driving could be nice, too - especially if your company gives you a decent per-mile rate.
I don’t go back that far, but does anyone here remember when most long-haul business travel was by train?

I actually did MORE VTC-ing back in the 1999-2000 time period than I’ve ever done since.
My organization will not pay you for your time if it takes longer to drive somewhere than fly. Thus, I’d have to take leave if it took me longer than a day to drive somewhere.
I work with a guy that’s afraid to fly so he drives EVERYWHERE. He burns up a lot of vacation time that way.

Why must he constantly go cross country?

^ Because he can’t do downhill – he’s afraid of heights!
