nooooo! go back to the moon, and do the space shuttle right this time. never mind a silly basketball player who has more money than he knows what to do with all ready.

maybe LeBron should finance the space program? its HQ has his initials.

How clever of our Dear Leader to know that there is nothing more to be learned from or done on the moon.

I’m sure there are many selenologists and planetary geologists who are howling mad about this but they are keeping quiet out of fear of losing their federal funding.

There’s not much (if anything) that we can learn by manned moon (or Mars) landings that we can’t learn more cheaply, easily, and safely by unmanned missions. When there’s a compelling reason to actually land there, other than simply to pump our fists and say “WE DID IT!”, they’ll still be there…

I’d like to see new shuttles, and more and/or better space stations, though.

Hey good one, “tank”….you managed to clown the President AND the U.S. Marines in the same strip. I challenge Dullard Fillmore to turn that trick. You should change your name to “teabagg”.

fritzoid, you could not be more wrong abour manned space exploration. There are many things that could not be done otherwise. Without the Apollo missions and the samples from it we would not have solved the moon’s origins. We will not find life on Mars (if it exists) with unmanned probes; it’s too well hidden. Most of all humanity will not be secure until it exist in more than one place. Is that compelling enough reason?
