While I hope that Rufus and his mom can get this mess straightened out…. we must all keep aware that the greatest injustice is being experienced by our gentleman/scholar, Joel. He is unjustly incarcerated, he does not have anyone coming to visit him, and he has been forced to refrain from his beloved pipe. Our true sympathies need to stay with him.
JPuzzleWhiz… I agree that Rufus is experiencing a case of mistaken identity…. but I still feel Joel deserves more of our sympathies because Rufus 1) has his mom there, 2) did not take Joel’s sage advice to not go near the prison, and 3) he is fairly clueless most of the time. Joel, by contrast, is more of a thinker, and he is likely far more stressed than Rufus… and Joel understandably feels “nekked” (vulnerable) without his pipe.

Well, Thank Goodness SOMEONE can tell the difference! And let’s hope that the warden believes her!

Remember what I said about her earlier? Told you so.

How very informal this is! I’d expect her to be on the other side of a gate at the very least.
