Use one of those archaic phrases among young people and they look at you as if you’re a rhinoceros doing a tap dance in galoshes..Act suave and charming to a young woman, and next thing you know she’s holding the door open for you and saying you remind her of her grandfather. Pity that poor slouchy gray-haired old fellow in the store window — and it’s YOU.
I love watching old James Cagney movies, just to listen to the slang & wonder…what the heck did that mean? One of my fav lines “Look at the gams on that one!” :)
