Is there some reason this running gag has a numerical disagreement between the singular article a and the plural noun watchmen?
There’s disagreement because the “new” Harper Lee novel (which she never wanted published) is “Go Set a Watchman.” The Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons graphic novel series is “Watchmen.”
