DOC TOON are you related to Jon or Garfield? Oh. the coffee is related to your brew.
Time for my tale of ALMOST NUC COFFEE
As a newly promoted NCO, this Marine decided to wash the Guard Shack’s coffee pot (I said promoted, not smart). I took every weapon of distruction the Corps had to offer during that noble (ahem) war and attacked that pot with scrub brushes, steel wool, comet, and Mr Clean. When this failed to remove 14 years of burnt on caffeine, this intelligent (?) young man grabbed rifle bore cleaner. Worked like a charm.
We did not need to make coffee for two weeks. Everyone would take a cup, take a sip, and pour it back in the pot.. A new pot arrived from the Naval Exchange in Japan and everyone complained that the coffee had no character.
While this may not be true NUC COFFEE, it was close enough for government work..
That explains the problem with everyone’s military coffee: Lew cleaned the pot! If it doesn’t give off that fragrant cat pee smell when nothing is in it, then it can’t make good coffee.
An old friend told me how he and his shipmates made the perfect Navy coffee: They would make a fresh pot on Friday afternoon and then everyone would go on liberty for the weekend. When they got back on Sunday evening, the coffee would be just about right…….
(This story may be one of the reasons I don’t like coffee.)
Sorry mustang. Flavored coffee is an abomination to me. Give me good old Army coffee, it’s the best I ever had when on maneuvers waking up at dawn cold and wet.
Doc toon: read your formula over at Pibgorn page 4. That cool down and re-perk is an act of pure genius!

I think you need to use a little more water and a little less coffee Jon.

Oh, no, Doctor Toon’s Nuclear Coffee has made it here, too (however unintentionally)! Will it never end? :))

I always like a nice chewy cup of coffee.

Johanan, Doc’s famous nuclear coffee would have melted that chintzy cup in no time! LOL

But Jon or Garfield made it wrong. That’s why we need DocT here.

Actually, Vista Bill, Navy coffee could also describe it as well.

Does Doc Toon’s nuclear coffee have any flavored?
Do the Army, Navy, Corp, and/or Marine have any flavored while you guys were in active duty in your times?
I betcha the coffees what those militaries and Doc toon have UNFLAVORED. ACCKKK! Choke my throat! I MUST have nice flavored in my own coffee!

Maybe Jon is getting pointers on making coffee from Lisa Douglas. (Green Acres)
