My husband is nervous now because he tells me “surprise me”, too.

Earl, be glad she didn’t reply (a la an old Simpsons episode), “What’s a donut?”

Earl can carry that…and two cups of coffee at the same time.

Poor man’s doughnut:Toast bread, spread with lard and sprinkle with 10X sugar. Tastes like a doughnut. Mmmm.

You can make donuts at home. We used to take the canned refrigerator biscuit dough, smash one flat with a drinking glass and then punch out the “hole” using a (washed out) pill bottle as a cookie cutter. Fry these in some cooking oil, drain on paper towels and shake in a paper bag with some sugar in it. The kids loved these and fought over who got the donut holes.

Is this how Dunkin’ got started ? A simple piece of bread with a hole in it ?

She could have just said no, but no. She had to give him a major disappointment.

The two comments that I dislike: “Surprise me.” and “I don’t care what you cook for dinner’” Gets him in trouble every time!Been married 48 yrs. You’d think he’d learned by now.
