At 89, it is not that big a risk; at 19 it is a major risk and should not be done at all. At other ages, you are old enough to make your own stupid (or smart) decisions and live (or die) with them.

The problem is you got hooked when you knew everything. Now that I’m not the smartest man on Earth, I realize what smoking does but I no longer possess the all powerful ability to stop anytime I please. When the doctor told me drinking would kill me I said “Seen more old drunks than old doctors” but I did quit. Same doctors, same advice on smoking. Pills, patches, gum, and cold turkey. All I do is make everyone else miserable. Cancer cures smoking but do I want to put my family through that. Perhaps I’ll be shot at 92 by the 18 year old bimbos jealous husband.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Joe: How do you get to be old enough to live in a retirement facility/nursing home and still believe that a cartoons caricature are REAL?? AND worse; what THEY are thinking! Although I must admit that it doesn’t seem to effect your mind otherwise. Good Meds?

Dan! of course they are REEL! Lew, I managed with a prescription. A little depression but I was aware and made it thru. I like to stand upwind of smokers occasionally. 78 yrs this year and about 70 yrs of smoking.
