In a similar vein: I was heartened to read a headline that said that Harvard School of Business grads were not going into investment banking in the number previously seen I thought, for one brief, shining, STUPID moment that things were looking up and perhaps something approximating social conscience was taking place. Then I read that they’re opting for hedge funds and derivatives shops where they can stick a straw straight into the economic jugular without all those annoying banking regulations. STUPID me!
Knock of the CONservative attempt to rewrite history. Bush stole the 2000 election aided and abetted by his brother the Governor and the state campaign manager, Ms. Makeup Harris, the two top election officials in the state. And knock of the baloney about “recount after recount.” There was only ONE complete recount, an automated recount of the original vote by the original machine, which should have gotten exactly the same outcome and reduced Bush’s lead by more than 2/3. There was no other completed recount, because an illegal Supreme Court knowingly reached into the political realm that should have been resolved by Congress in a decision so heinous they declared it to not to be used as precedent in other cases. The biggest electoral larceny was in obstructing tens of thousands of likely Democrats from even voting, with redacted names restored after the election, with an apology, but not having their votes added retroactively.http://www.wordwiz72.com/vote2000.html
@fbjsr _ That reduction was only the single machine recount, not a manual recount if actual ballots, which were attempted several times but obstructed by the Bush / Harris / Republican machine. No actual manual recounts were completed, and that does not even start to address the tens of thousands of likely Democratic voters who were obstructed from voting on election day as chronicled in the article I linked to.

I always thought GWB won because his brother purged 60,000 voters from the roles,

I follow politics and never heard of that “$1M” offer, either. Probably only on RedState.
