Strolling by Samantha
Caulfield: Is that supposed to make me want to hire Samantha? Or be Samantha? Frazz: The former pays for the billboard, but nobody's going to question the latter.
I was having a cocktail at the Mustang Lounge on Mackinac and looking out the window. Of course, the street was full of horse poop…..Some particularly large piles, at that…Ayoung woman came walking across the road, dodging road apples….She had a tiny little dog on a leash…About halfway across the road, the dog stopped and took a dump…..Trying not to step into the piles left by the horses, she dutifully pulled out a baggie and a scoop and collected the little dog’s poop and put it in the bag….What a great citizen!
When I lived in Bozeman, there was a fellow who was in the business of cleaning up dog poop in peoples’ yards. His primary advertising was to get a spot in all of the parades, right behind one of the equestrian groups.
My parents live in a fair sized neighborhood and one set of their neighbors goes out every other evening with a plastic bag and shovel and picks up all the “road apples” even if they happen to be within someones yard. If they can see it, they pick it up. The reason they do this is because he is mentally challenged and it is a way for him to get exercise. They are very friendly and will talk a blue streak if you come across them on your own stroll. :-)
I don’t know if this is done anywhere else, but our local zoo collects animal droppings and gives away bags of what they call “Zoo Doo”. It’s a very high demand item, and goes very quickly, it’s very rich as fertilizer, and with a high concentration of manure from large felines , it is quite effective at keeping other animals (especially dogs) out of one’s garden

False ads, she should be carrying an entire roll of poop bag.

I have never seen road apples all over the streets of Mackinac as the cleanup was usually very prompt.

I wonder if she uses the Theme from Rawhide as music on her TV ads……

That’s one lucrative Dog Walking business if she can afford a billboard

I have friends in the horse-heavy town of Aiken, SC who are wondering if they can collect the road apples for use in their garden plot.

I think Samantha is cute!

BobarionMy high school was that way. Not only parades, but keeping in step in place was a mess when midfield on natural turf after a rain.

Unfortunately, if he wants to be Samantha, people will question it.
