Lucy: Still planning a Summer adventure? Danae: Um...yes and no...apparently I had one, in the future, but Jeffrey used his time machine to come back and prevent it from happening. Lucy: Remind me to thank Jeffrey. Danae: for WHAT?! Lucy: I'm pretty sure I don't wanna know. Danae: GAH!

Yeah, she’ll definitely be sent to the Principal’s office is she tries to write this up for her ‘what I did on my summer vacation’ paper…

We all should thank him!

Reminds me of the NSFW web comic Oglaf, where one strip started with a magician appearing and asking for his reward for traveling back in time to prevent a horrible plague. He slowly comes to realize that now nobody remembers the plague, or the promise that he could marry the princess and be given a dukedom if he stopped it. They generously offer him a hot meal anyway and he accepts.

Mike Doonesbury always had his summer fantasy. All I want is summer.

Danae calls Jeffrey ‘bugger brains’ which she should consider in believing his fantasies. Just depends Lucy and her ’horse sense. Must summer be planned or have definite expectations? Maybe she should ask Kate.

Will Lucy and Jeffrey be able to derail Danae from her summer adventure? Not a chance AND she’ll suck them in to joining her. She’s just too strong-minded. She’s also pretty transparent and not the least bit subtle…but a lot of fun.

In Singularity Sky, a Charlie Stross character gets three wishes. The reader is left to figure out from the consequences that he wished to be a child again, to have animal friends, and to go on adventures. What could go wrong?

@dflakROTFL! I LOVE it! I always hated my teachers when they didn’t believe me! Give your son a “high five” for me! (No matter how old he is now….I’m 67!)

ladylagomorph76 Dear bunny doe: Maybe we should organize an advocacy group; we have over 10% of those posting so far. In the second grade, my son had a fascination with möbius strips. Stumped for a “science project”, I suggested that – dividing down the middle, at the third way, second generation divisions, etc. The teacher couldn’t comprehend it and wouldn’t believe it was his work. He drives a gravel truck now.

In Singularity Sky, a Charlie Stross character gets three wishes. The reader is left to figure out from the consequences that he wished to be a child again, to have animal friends, and to go on adventures. What could go wrong?-Another three wishes joke: A private, a corporal and a sergeant are ambling back to base after chow. They find a lamp; the genie appears with the three wishes divided among the men. Private: “I wish to be on a South Sea beach with a mai tai and lots of beautiful island girls.” Poof—he’s gone. Corporal: “I wish to be in a Moroccan salon with lots of herb to smoke and a bevy of beautiful, dark-eyed ladies.” Poof—the corporal’s outta here. When it comes to the sergeant’s turn, he replies “I want those two back on base ASAP”. I see how he made sergeant.
