Good one, I’ve never caught that reference before when reading this particular strip (I have the books-good art and writing deserves re-reading, occasionally will pick up something you’ve overlooked before. Oh, BTW thanks for the earwig;-p. For another reference to Tijuana try to find Homer & Jethro’s version of El Paso-I think I have run across it on a music site.
An’ I’ve been from Tucson to TucumcariTehachapi to TonopahDriven every kind of rig that’s ever been madeDriven on the back roads so I wouldn’t get weighed
There are two speeds, Ozy: 1) 40 miles per hour; and 2) Holy s**t! I can’t stop this thing!!!!.And why isn’t Isolde driving? Doesn’t she have the driver’s license? :-)
Breaker-breaker 1-9: I want to get into the conversation on channel 19.Y’all come back: please repeat what you just said. This is the Red Delta Lady: personal identification. We got a bear in the air: There’s an aerial (helicopter or aeroplane) policeman.Hammer down: “pedal to the metal”, going as fast as I can.Tijuana Taxi: local police cruiser.10-4: Yes; correct; I agree; I understand; etc.
CW McCall’s “Ratchet Jaw” or Cletus Maggard’s “Cletus’ CB Lingo Dictionary” are good for examples and explanations….now go, breakers!
