many years ago my ex and I both worked night shift and went to school during the day. we watched General Hospital religiously every day before going to work.
howtheduck: I know some MEN who are addicted to soaps… lol
Tanya, I am one of those men who are addicted to soaps. That’s me! I love watching my favorite soap opera; “All My Children.” Ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaa… X-D Smile! :-)
Boy, these soap operas always keep the troubles stirring up over and over and over again and again every day! Sighhhhhh! :-/ What can I do about it?!
My boyfriend has a friend who works 6-3 daily,, and won’t do anything after work for an hour because HE MUST watch Young and the Restless! we called him once forgetting his routine and he promptly told us to call back in an hour!
I remember when All My Children was a relatively new soap. There was an article in TV Guide about how college students would all gather in the cafeteria for lunch to watch it together. If I remember right, this was a predominantly male school population.
Afternoon nap time for kids meant reading time for me. I have never watched a single soap opera, unless you consider “Desperate Housewives” on Sunday night.
I must admit that my daytime guilty pleasure for many many years (30, at least!) has been “The Young And The Restless.” But ever since Bill Bell died in 2005, the storyline quality has really gone to pot! I’m pretty much only watching it these days because of Cane and Lily; without them, I probably wouldn’t watch it at all (which would, no doubt, make my husband very happy!).
BTW: I posted a little bit of info and a wiki address on yesterday’s forum for anyone who might still be interested in the history of strollers and baby carriages.

It’s amazing what looks like good TV when you’ve been listening to baby babble all day ;-)

Somehow, SOMEHOW that show Elly and friend are watching it reminds me of While You Were Sleeping.
