My grandpa would give me a penny and tell me to plant it so a money tree would grow. When all those planted pennies failed to grow and I complained to him about it, he said I wasn’t watering them enough. No matter how often I watered them, they never did grow into money trees. I wonder if dimes would have worked better?
Single moms have it difficult, working all day, then coming home to take care of kids and do all the chores herself. Life isn’t ever fair.
Elly is fortunate she has a husband who works a good (dentist) job, and she can manage the money, giving John his allowance and she is free to spend as she wants on herself. Michael just knows that when his mom wants money for anything, it just comes out of her bank account.
Mommies and/or Daddies have to go to work and earn the money for their finanical budgets so they can live under their roofs. And of course, the money doesn’t grow from the tree, eh!
sandyhere, that reminds me of my kids when they were young. If we told them we didn’t have the money for something they wanted at the time, they said, “Well, you can go to the store and get some!”
how the duck, I have heard a joke that when kids want money, they tell their parents they can get it from the “wall.” (ATM)
I was traveling with some kids I was babysitting and they wanted me to take the to McDonalds as we drove by. I told them I didn’t have any money and one of the kids said, “That’s ok, they give you money at the first window.” He was refering to the change of course. I guess I’d go to McDonalds a whole lot more often if they gave me money at the first window and food at the second.

right question for the age. My son wondered why his Daddy had to go to work and had about the same response….

I remember my brother, when he was about 5 years old, thought Mom got money from the grocery store – it was only the change from the clerk!!

A friend’s son asked if he could have a new bicycle. She said, “No, we don’t have any money”. He said, “Well, you can just write a check for it”.

I wasn’t allowed out of my room for a week!

Mike has it backwards. The banks get money from everybody else. Then when they throw it all away, we bail them out and they get even more money.

I once wondered why my parents couldn’t just get the money from “Mrs. Laneous.” I didn’t know that she was just a category in their budget.
