I can attest, this is indeed much more fun for all parties involved. It does make reading the paper a bit of a challenge.
When I was little, my dad would lay me over his knees and then bounce his heels. I’d say “ah”, and it would come out “ah-ah-ah-ah”. I could have done it for hours, but I know it wore him out!

I remember my dad would bounce us on his knees for “horsey rides” when I was little. Much more fun than one of those playground things.
