When one ululates does the uvula vibrate?

Not very often do the comics make me consult the dictionary.

Why me dear Lord? Why do I turn to Teresa’s strip day after day. Didn’t I swear to you I wouldn’t make any political comments today? Didn’t I go to church both Easter and Christmas. Lord, if it is thy will, let this strip pass from me.

If there is one thing that I truly hates It is when someone near me ululates It causes me stress and gets on my nerve Especially when done with vigor and verve And with them I must be curt “Stop that bleeep or you I will hurt” Don’t get me wrong, for it, there is a time and a place Like when I’m not around and deep in outer space So if you feel the urge when I am around Your head in, I just might pound.

“Ululate” is an excellent example of onomatopoeia, wouldn’t you say? Along with “gobble”, “burp”, “f@rt”, and “spit”. But not “onomatopoeia”, itself. Which would have been something of a self-eating watermelon, come to think of it.

As a young man, I was once threatened with castigation for masticating too loudly.
