“life as a lonely geek” -Why do you assume geekhood (which I wear as a badge of honor) is lonely? I assure you, there are plenty of social geeks. I have a lot of friends (both geek and non-geek), and I have seen no evidence that the geeks are any lonelier than the non-geeks. My geeky husband is a social butterfly, and so is my brother (who is co-founder of a tech firm)

i know plenty of sociable geeks. granted some are a little more poorly socialized than others, but they still don’t lack for friends and social activities
