    And some of the pilots who fly those planes are paid sub-minimum wage.

    The minimum wage arguments are only applicable to nations where such laws exist. There certainly are countries where pilots make significantly less than in others, and are not held to nearly the same safety standards. Go spend some time perusing the Aviation Safety Network, if you dare.

    Think about the airline safety statistics, An Airbus A380-800 with 853 passengers has a wing fall off at 37,000 it will fly 6,000 passenger miles before everybody dies.
