There are still typewriters out there. Sometime there are forms, etc. that are required to be printed or typed. And typed forms are easier to read.
I loved that smell . . . that and mimeograph blanks and fluid.

My mom paid $1,000 for a nice one back in the day. Now you don’t even pay that for a computer. LOL
I’ve had a portable since 1962. I keep it as back up in case the computer goes down and I want to write someone a letter. My handwriting is horrible.

I still have my old Smith-Corona manual, as well as the new-fangled electric Brother on which I typed my Master’s Thesis in 1983. It had a full line of memory so you could proofread that line on the little screen before it printed out. Fancy.
