Alice: So that's the poop, your grace. Me and Elmont gotta get hitched if we're gonna make it through another winter. Policeman: Excuse me, reverend. Are you with the group being arrested? Rev. Sloan: You're marrying for shelter? What a shocking indictment of society! Policeman: I don't have all day. You want to be arrested or not? Rev. Sloan: Oh, yes, sorry. I'll be passively resisting. Alice; It's a the bus terminal. Can you do it? Rev. Sloan: Are you kidding? Wouldn't miss it! It's a powerful statement! Alice: Does it have to be? We're trying to keep it small.

OTOH, I was with a friend driving in DC during the days of rage, while stopped at a red lite, one of the protesters popped our hood trying to pull off the distributor. My friend jumped out of the car and pulled out his .357 revolver and told the guy that if he tried it he was going to be dead.(my friends wife was lying down in back, we were on our way to Walter Reed as we were both in the AF and she was quite ill and had an appointment at WR.)Not all “flower power” and yes, he would have killed the guy if he had laid hands on the distributor. We were both armed as we were assigned to a job that required being armed and wearing civ clothing
