Sound about right. My cats do that all the time. Being polite sniffing and liking each other and then the wrestle begin with meows and growls…. 5 Minutes later, they are back at purring at each other… I stopped wondering about their kitties game a long time ago….
Actually cats don’t meow at each other – the meows are for humans. Hissing and yowling are what my cat does when she sees another cat venture into her territory.
