This is nonsense (and why poly-strata fossils prove a young Earth) — erosion & weathering cause sediment to go downhill — how did things get buried? Either poly-strata tree fossils (without a world-wide flood) stood for millions of years while dirt formed up around them, or they (collectively) grew through hundreds of feet of rock looking for sunlight.
