We have no children in the house but my wife and I like to have plastic glassware so we have something that can go āoutsideā and if it doesnāt make it back inside(for one reason or another āno problem or no great lossā ! ! ! ! !
Or, your glassware is all āMade in the USA.āThe industry is mostly gone now..Why buy new, when there is plenty of vintage US glass available at flea markets and online- everything from art glass and elegant table glass to inexpensive everyday stuff..Want something to last through your kids and grand-kids? Decorated jelly glasses are durable enough to survive most kids (and clumsy adults) ā even outside.
I think my dear husband was born a plugger. Heās not really old enough yet, but he never met a plastic cup with writing on it that he didnāt like. And bring home. And store in the cupboard. And never look at again. Sighā¦
When I was a hyoung āun, gas stations gave out a free glass with fill-up. After awhile, you could collect the whole set. Some of those designs you often see at thrift stores were probably acquired that way. I also remember gas costing 27 cents a gallon. We didnāt know when we had it good.

My MIL had a penchant for pilfering the red drink cups from Pizza Hut. Bless her heart.
