Everyone talks about parallel dimensions. No one appreciates the perpendicular ones.

I like the acute ones, myself… but usually I’m stuck in an obtuse dimension.

George has given up wondering how she does these things, but she is darn good with the puzzles. Good Night Gracie!

This joke is lame on two legs, but I am still glad to see the new material coming out of the NH/SB foundry!

    Welcome, everybody!

    We’ve got a new strip tonight …

for the June 22nd  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY” on Sherpa…

    where Dennis is sending you.

Ooppsie-doopsie…. typing June 22nd made me realise I called yesterday the 20th… same as the day before.

Either nobody noticed (whew!) .. or thanks for all being so polite!

Anyway… Claude and Cleo are attempting to be lame…. but they have a way to go.

Not that Cleo’s joke isn’t lame… of course it is… but look what they’re up against:

    Garfield.

I mean, come ON. We’re talkin’ Garfield.

Now, if there’s room in the equation for plenty of lameness… I’m sure the Cliffords can have a bit, as well…

    but if it’s a zero-sum game….winner take all… the result is predetermined.

I know where Cleo and Claude could practice… it’s a strip called "Garfield Minus Garfield. "

They only have to erase Jon; then move in and rehearse the lines.

Until recently, it was on GoComics but now you have to search for it on the web… or just use a regular strip and do your own erasing.

I suggest “Garfield Classics.” Endless lame.

    Small problems:

Teresa Burritt lays claim to a lot of the lame that’s available.

And both "Peanuts"and “Pearls Before Swine” make use of similar devices…. a wall, in “Peanuts”, and in “Pearls” … a brick wall and a cafe counter.

They both seem to rake in the dough with it… even though they can’t come close to the lameness of Garfield…

    or even of Cleo’s joke.

    More study is needed.

I’d be happy to apply for a grant.

BTW… maybe Gracie’s tired of just Across and Down…

On that chair back, she might also be solving for words along the Y axis, or the hypotenuse.

    Upside down, or backwards.

They may or may not exactly fit the clues she was given…

but she’s inventing new directions for crossword puzzles.

After all… books, rules… the laws of physics… they’re so limiting.

I’m wondering whether she’s also invented little cleats for her low-heeled shoes…

that anchor her on the slope.

    She seems rather unperturbed.

I know it almost certainly says “Cross Words” ..

but that title sure looks like “Curse Words” to me.

    Gracie wouldn’t be doing a book li…. I mean… really…. she wouldn’t…. would she?

I can’t even see the wires holding her up.

Maybe put an Odie table cloth on the table.

GOOD MORNING BALLARDEERS! 101, 000, 101 Days of this stay at home crap. Of course, as humid as it has been lately, staying in the A/C doesn’t suck too bad.

Doctor’s appointment in 45 minutes via the wonderful world of the inter webs. Suppose I should get dressed.

Y’all have a wonderful day. (((((HUGS)))))

Well, Cleo. You managed to create a really bad lame joke! Congratulations,

I have one of those ’can’t’ openers because my right hand doesn’t work too well. But when I give it to MMM is back to being a ‘can’ opener. Go figure.

Claude, we all know who needs to get poked with that broom stick. They also need to get a certain substance dumped on their heads to remind them that Sherpa still hasn’t been fixed after three years and will never be fixed.
