Build a fire. You have two matches. Your badge depends on this.

Jeez, Joe. Man up and stop your whining! Someone with your resume doesn’t need to explain anything to anyone. Really, you don’t need to explain ANYTHING to ANYONE.

now if you could light a coal fire in a wood stove, or a wood fire in a coal stove, that would be a neat trick…

“Hey - do you know anything about parachutes?”

“Nope - do you know anything about gas stoves?”

He didn’t say there’s no wood, Joe. He said “there’s no fire.” I’ve seen gas & kerosene furnaces that looked similar enough to what’s shown. We used to go camping at a log cabin on the top of the Rockies where the source of heat & cooking was a coal pile & a pot-bellied stove.

JOE I guess you’re not old enough for this joke

If you had a candle, a stove,an oil lamp and one match, which would you light first?

    The match.

    Lew,

That joke must be so old that it’s new to me. And that’s pretty old!

    But it’s funny.

I am still laughing at Allen, who is so surprised to see no fire at all in the stove yet that he interrupts himself. He’s not the type to start calling Delores a dope or anything, but no matter how inhibited/polite he is, he can’t help doing that double-take.
