What a magnificent cartoon! Religion is the ultimate “leave the sucker holding the bag” con job. Or, as someone put it, religious poisons you, then offers to sell you the antidote.Oh, but wait, you shouldn’t even want to ask for evidence; you have to accept it on faith (John 20.29). In other words, do what I tell you to do, believe what I tell you to believe, don’t ask questions, and make sure you give at least 10% to the organization. Social control of those too immature to make their own decisions and live their own lives.
