So to be at normal weight you have to admit to being overweight? You should run for congress or something, Betty.

We are being held to such abnormal standards by fashion magazines that a lot of us feel we are overweight, even when we are not.

This is the first one that made me smile all week. Okay Betty, I admit to being overweight. Does that make me skinny now? Didn’t work…maybe I’ll be skinny in the morning.

For the DNI indicator to come into effect, all of the other indicators have to show that you are overweight. If your BMI and circumference are good, so are you. Fashion has nothing to do with it, or there would be no overweight nudists.

lets see using a measure that was developed by an economist in the 1800’s that places healthy but tall people as overweight that makes sense.

I lost one of my best workers in the Navy over that. The guy was a weight lifter and only had about 2% body fat but because his neck was huge (muscles – many muscles!) and his waist was trim that bmi stuff said he was way overweight and the Navy discharged him…. rather dumb.. He immediately tried out for the Jacksonville Football team and made it. The guy bench pressed about 500 lbs…. fat he was NOT.
