Girl: Mom, I heard Dad say something about a perfect game in baseball. What's a perfect game? Woman: One that's rained out, so we don't have to watch it.
I’m a sports fan wife–almost more so than my husband…as in basketball, baseball, golf, soccer, some football, a horserace or two and curling….but no beer for us.
The only thing better than this type of “perfect game” is one which is the result of a major league strike. Then it’s an entire season of perfect games.
cdward, baseball is the only team sport I find watchable. I can follow basketball, but I can’t enjoy it; and when my wife sits down to watch the Apple Cup, I go to the public library for the afternoon.
Baseball is eminently watchable if you know what you’re watching. But there are many people today who can’t understand it. It might have to do with short attention spans and the need for instant gratification - two of the themes that lead to a civilization’s downfall. Lot’s of women enjoy baseball but most probably don’t. Same goes for men.

Wife of sports fans. This is how husbands get their alone time.

Pouncing, please don’t stereotype wives and husbands. Not all wives hate sports and not all husbands love them.

Okay, when I comes to baseball, I agree. One of the most unwatchable sports I’ve seen – right up there with televised poker.

Or maybe its just that baseball is so long and incredibly dull that anyone with more than a few brain cells can’t put up with too much of it.

Amen brother, the only things more boring than baseball are golf and soccer.
