slras1, I have no problem getting a clear signal from the new rabbit ears designed to pick digital. In fact there is a local station or 2 that DirecTV does not provide. But since it only picks up local stations, it’s an alternative when the satelite goes as a result of the weather conditions. At least you can keep up with the news reports etc.
e-skip is caused by solar cycles (approximately every 11 years) when sun spots become more numerous resulting in increased ionization in the upper atmosphere. Spots are currently on the increase.

Wow… It’s like the Internet, but with less porn!

I have a digital TV with rabbit ears, and in addition to the national networks I get international news stations like France24 and Euronews; ThisTV, which mostly shows movies; RTV, which shows classic TV shows; and weather channels. I feel no need to pay for cable or satellite.
Sorry but that digital converter box with the government coupon for $20 bucks did not work good, you still need a strong antenna unless you live next door to the TV stations antenna
CLARK KENT Glad to hear you have time to listen to those fire and brimstone guys. Wish I had that free time. Send the preacher $10, he has to pay his 2nd girlfriend’s doctor to say she had digestive problems.

My TVs have rabbit ears: I choose not to pay for cable or satellite when I spent more time on the internet anyhow. Sigh! “The good old days!”

Rabbit ears will still get digital signals. They need a digital converter box, though.

The newer rabbit ears get the digital signal, however, there aren’t many channels to choose from. Local stations aren’t enough.

@Grog: Wait until you pick up local stations from other cities (in other states) on certian days. It’s a weather condition called “e-skip”.

Yep, you can work e-skip with the new digital TV system, much to some people’s surprise.

RCMinor, I didn’t see a diatribe against Christians. I saw a diatribe against crazy h&llfire and d@mnation TV preachers. The two aren’t synonymous.

SherlockWatson, that sounds like the line up of channels we get on our rabbit ears.
We also get Universal Sports and at least 5 International channels from MHZ (an independent public network)
Where else can you find Indonesian sit-coms and Varg Veum week?
