Back in the mid-1980’s, I was an IT contractor supporting an Army Exercise in Texas. At the end of the exercise we had to declassify about two dozen hard drives. In that day, this was a multi-step process. I got the idea to put a gummed label on each hard drive and use different colored magic markers to indicate which step each drive had completed.

So we went to the store to get the necessary supplies. We couldn’t find them in the stationary section, so I suggested checking with the school supplies. My co-worker responded, “You mean where they keep the footballs and the pom-poms?”

I can’t knock school sports too much. I now live in North Carolina. UNC, Duke, NC State and Wake Forest all offer degrees in Basketball.

Not very believable. Hard to imagine UT being able to tie with anyone this season.

We beat UT last week… I’m sure OU will do it this week. Sorry, family, your team sucks this year.

We’re not watching any football. I remember from Jr. High got caught up in the hype but after hour on Thanksgiving shut TV off from football. Family then not interested. Other family highly interested in football.

I lived in Austin Texas from 1974-77 and in eastern Oklahoma from 1977-80. Darrell Royal and then ‎Fred Akers coached Texas and ‎Barry Switzer coached OU. That was a serious rivalry then. Loved it!
