There’s a rumor going about that the summer Olympics committee is considering a new format for the decathlon that would be open to both sexes. Well sort of. The transgender decathlon would occur over two Olympics to allow the participants the time necessary for sex reassignment surgery.
The Pole-vault Relay event was only tried as a replacement for the Javelin Relay, which sport’s popularity declined following a spate of severe injuries. However some competitors were discovered to be sharpening the ends of the poles in an attempt to sabotage the opposition.
Reminds me of a cartoon I saw years ago. 2 guys wearing track uniforms, in the proctologist’s waiting room. One seated, one standing & looking uncomfortable.Seated guy says to standing guy, “Sorry I was so hasty with the baton, Jeff!”
