I remember they did a joke on Hee Haw once where one of the guys was telling everyone else about the time Junior Samples claimed he was so famous that he was known all over the world. The guy made a bet with Junior and the two of them were off on a world tour, first Junior proved that he knew the President of the US, then he proved that he knew the Queen of England, then the prime minister of France. Finally it came to the last person on the list, the pope, Junior went into the vatacan and told his friend to wait in the plaza and he and the pope would come out on the balcony and shake hands. When they came out the guy recognized Junior, but he couldn’t tell if it was really the pope so he turned to a guy standing next to him and asked him if he could see who was on the balcony and the man replied, “You mean the guy shaking hands with Junior Samples?”
